Questions before you write
Price, timing, and who actually holds the keys to your site. The answers are below.
Price and payment
Why “from”, and not a fixed price?
Because two sites of the same kind rarely cost the same. The starting price is for the simplest version: one language and a normal amount of content. Add languages, products or bookings, and the price goes up by as much work as they add.
You get the exact figure in writing after a short call, and only then do you pay anything.
How does payment work?
50% to start, 50% at launch. Two rounds of design changes are included, plus one round once the site is built.
Anything beyond that gets a price before we do it.
Timing
When do I need to start to be live for the season?
For a hotel or guest house, by the end of January if you want the site running before 1 May. A one-page site can start as late as early April. We didn't invent that deadline to rush you. It's how long design, build and testing take, and that's if your text and photos arrive on time.
We can start in summer too, but that's usually when you have the least time for text and photos.
Can I make changes without you?
The things that change often (prices, menus, photos, rooms) are edited from a simple admin panel. We show you around it at handover.
Bigger changes, like a new page or a different structure, go through the care plan or a separate quote.
Ownership and trust
Who actually owns the site: the domain, the hosting, the code?
The domain and hosting are registered in your name, on your account, and we just set them up. The code and content are yours once they're paid for.
We don't resell hosting, and we don't hold logins hostage.
What if Design Rabbits closes down?
You hold the logins to the domain, the hosting and the admin panel. The site stays yours and keeps running whether or not we're still looking after it.
No small studio can promise to be around forever, and we won't either. So everything's set up so your site doesn't depend on us.
Why trust a small studio with no reviews on its site?
There are no reviews on this site, and we won't put up made-up ones. What we can show you is the prices, the address in the Old Town and a person who picks up the phone.
If that's not enough, ask about anything you're unsure of before you pay a cent.
Who looks after the hosting?
We set it up, in your name. If you already have hosting or a domain, we work with those. If not, we pick a provider together that suits the size of the site.
The care plan includes renewal reminders, so your domain doesn't quietly expire.
Languages, bookings and marketing
What languages do you build sites in?
Bulgarian and English as standard, and both are included in the hospitality package. We also build in German, Russian, Romanian, Polish and others when you provide the translation or pay for one.
We don't translate the text ourselves. That's a translator's job.
How does the site help against Booking.com commissions?
Every booking through Booking.com or a similar platform costs you commission. A direct enquiry through your own site costs nothing per booking: you pay for the site once, and that's it.
We're not telling you to drop Booking.com or Airbnb; you can even link to your listing from the site. The idea is that at least some guests write to you directly.
Do you do SEO and ads?
Basic SEO is part of building the site: proper titles and descriptions, a clear structure, a page that loads fast on a phone. It helps people find you when they search for exactly what you offer.
Ongoing SEO campaigns and paid ads aren't our core work. If you need them, we'll point you to someone who does them.
